Non-Traditional Student Resources
Main Content
There are many unique circumstances which may lead students to identify as "non-traditional".
- Enrollment: Part-time students or students who delayed enrollment in college more than one year after high school
- Family: Married students or students with partners, students with dependents or children, single parents
- Financial: Students who also work full-time, or students who are financially independent from their parents
- SIU: Non-Traditional Student Services also provides resources and support for commuter students and transfer students, who may not be "non-traditional", but have a unique experience at SIU.
All these experiences shape who our students are and what they need from SIU. Many non-traditional students have responsibilities in addition to being a student. We see you, and we value your place at SIU.
